OfferingDesk by Firmsdata vs Research Room
Research Room, operated by FINSIGHT, publishes one of the more detailed public regulatory pages in this category — FCA, MiFID II, Hong Kong SFC and Singapore MAS. It does not cover FINRA, the SEC or SEBI. This is where the two differ, built from what each publishes.

Questions about this comparison
Is Research Room a bad product?
No. Its regulations page is one of the more detailed we have seen in this category for the FCA, MiFID II, Hong Kong and Singapore, and its published support commitment is stronger than most. Its pages do not cover FINRA, the SEC or SEBI, which is where OfferingDesk differs.
Why does the UK row matter?
Because FCA PS26/16 took effect on 5 August 2026 and removed the seven-day wait between the approved registration document and connected research, along with the unconnected-analyst equal-information requirement. A platform whose published UK position is the 2017 regime is describing rules that no longer apply. Check both of us against the policy statement rather than against either website.
You have no Singapore pack and they do. Is that not a gap?
It is a gap, and we list it as one. It exists because we could not confirm the rule against a primary MAS or legislative source, and because the rule as commonly reported is a deadline to distribute before lodgement rather than a blackout after it. We would rather carry the gap than gate a market on a rule we have not read. We will revisit Singapore once SFA 2001 s.251 has been read in full.
How does billing compare?
Research Room bills Net 30 by default, with a surcharge for card payment, per their published terms. OfferingDesk's billing terms are set per contract.
Can we run one tranche through each?
Talk to us. Most banks prefer one platform per deal so there is a single audit trail, but tranche-specific arrangements can be scoped.
